Obituary of Carol Jo Whitley
Carol Jo Whitley, "Mimi" age 83, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, August 18, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas after a 7-year battle with Alzheimer's.
Her celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Wedgwood Baptist Church at 11:00am. Visitation with the family will be before the service at 10:00am.
Carol Jo Bryan was born July 23, 1941, to Robert Preston Bryan and Mary Josephine Bryan in Mesquite, Texas. She grew up in the Dallas area where her daddy was a Baptist preacher. Carol retired from Lockheed Martin after serving 25 years in the calibration lab. She was a devoted wife to Tommy Whitley for 27 years, loving mother, and Mimi to her grandchildren, which was her favorite role. Some of her gifts included: cooking, playing the piano by ear, showing mercy to those in need, and being a prayer warrior for her friends and family. Most importantly, Carol was a devoted follower of Jesus and demonstrated a life of faith. Her compassionate heart was a blessing to all who knew her. Carol's favorite bible verse was Matthew 6:33 "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Tommy, her parents, sisters Kay, Sue, and brother Paul.
Carol is survived by her brother David Bryan, children Lori and husband Bryant Walker, Lisa and husband Robert Donley, Glenn Whitley and wife Darla, Jeff Whitley and grandchildren Lauren Walker, Brett, Brandon, Chase, Cutter, and Jaycee Whitley.
