Q: How did you meet Cheryl?
A:
I met Cheryl through the Print Production Association. There was an amazing group of women working in the Advertising business in the 90’s and we all knew each other and came together for fun, sharing knowledge and supporting each other. We called it the Girdle and met often to laugh and share our latest production or personal stories. We did let some men join us every so often to help keep us in line buy us another wine!
Cheryl had many talents you may not know about.
• Professional flame thrower because she could light her fart and never catch her pants or bum on fire. She was a master at this!
• Cow tipping at night on the dark roads around Amarillo. She met my dad and they hit it off immediately and told stories about Amarillo. I was raised there but never knew my dad was also a cow tipping prankster. Yep they loved each other!
• Boob flasher! Will never forget going down highway 183 in a limo and Cheryl had them open the moon roof so she could stand up and flash her boobs to the world.
• Helped make our smiles look much better at Halloween with the use of Candy Corn.
• Never shy and always full of fun and surprises with her many talents.
On a serious note she was the kindest, sweetest and compassionate person you would ever meet. Her contagious laugh and big heart were shared with everyone. I love that she helped take care of our sweet friend Betty Jean Shelton for many years and I am sure countless other friends.
I will miss this sweet lady and know that she lived a full life and was a very good person.
Soar high above sweet angel.

Cher Cher
A dear soul, who always made you laugh. Her gravelly voice smirking about the situation you were in with her. I always went away feeling totally accepted with a smile on my face.
Cheryl, You are loved,
I’m sure the angels are in stitches while feeling your warmth.
Miss you,
Judy

Q: What 3 words best describe Cheryl and why?
A: Celebration of my cousin, Cheri
By Carolee Fagent
There are three words I would use to describe my cousin, Cheri- loyal, mischievous, and raucously fun! Okay, that was four, but she was raucously fun! I spent time with Cheri when we were kids, as our mothers were sisters, and the Texan Herricks would come visit the California Shepphirds for some summer fun at Disneyland. She and I were about the same age, which is a treasure for cousins, and with all of us cousins together, there were ten of us from two families! Needless to say, our mothers (who wanted to spend time together) were always corralling us, yet we were up to mischief!
Cheryl always had great ideas, and I can remember jumping on hotel beds with her, and running through hotel corridors with the youngers in tow! One vivid memory is her mom, my Aunt Ann, chasing us around with a hairbrush to discipline us after some antics.
As we grew up, and family dynamics changed, I didn’t see Cheri as much as I would have liked to. But, when we were together for a family event, she still had that smirk, and sparkling eyes, as well as her inspirational laugh, and we would pick up right where we left off as kids.
At this stage of my life, where loss of family and friends, as well as distressing illnesses can change joy in a moment, I believe Cheri is leaving us with the message to continue to celebrate life, look for diverse details, and rejoice in health, sight, and being with those you love.
Joy is one of the most prominent themes in the Bible, God’s plan since creation has been to bring us joy and peace. As I picture Cheri in heaven, I can hear her laugh, and move with joy, probably creating art!
I close with a Bible verse as a toast to Cheryl for the gift she was to me as a cousin:
Romans 15:13
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope.”

I ,met Cheryl around 1972 or so in Austin Texas on a softball team! We only !won one game but we always celebrated our losses at The Split Rail to the music of Marcia Ball in a band called Freida and the Firedogs! Cheryl became a life long friend and collaborator! We raised hell for years to come, and we are all going to miss her! LAGNAF Girls forever! My heart goes out to Kim, Mary Lou , Tommy and all of her family! She was a crown jewel of life for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her!
