Obituary of Robert Lee Howell-Jennings

Robert (Bobby) Howell-Jennings, 61, went to be with his Lord after sustaining injuries from a car accident on September 23, 2024. Bobby was born on Long Island, New York to Daniel and Diane (Moore) Howell. He was progressive enough to take his wife’s last name when he married Joy Jennings on New Year’s Eve in 1999. If Y2K was going to happen, they would be married. Joy was blessed to have known Bobby for 28 years, 25 of those married. They made their home in Burleson, Texas. 

Bobby grew up boxing on his father’s boxing team, Atlantic Boxing Club, and even won the Long Island Championship. He enlisted in the US Army, serving as an MP, and was proud to be a Veteran. Afterwards, he was employed at AT&T, where he was working when he was transferred to Dallas and met his wife. Bobby had a varied work history, mastering auto sales, driving semi’s, working on computers, and  his favorite job, teaching. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s in Social Work from UTA, an achievement he was immensely proud of. His service dog, Lola, helped him every step of the way. 

Bobby loved to show off his wonderful singing voice, listening to blues & Sinatra, playing pool & darts, & cheering on his beloved Jets & Giants as a proud New Yorker. He was an avid cruiser and had a great fondness for the island of Puerto Rico. 

He is survived by his wife, 4 spoiled dogs, Coco, service dog Lola, Layla, and service dog Gizmo, 2 cats that tolerated him, Sugar & Ginsberg, and his huge tank of tropical fish, all of whom have names; brothers, Lee (Ana) Howell of Chula Vista, CA, and Daniel (Joanne) Howell  of Ephrata, PA; sister Cathy Goodbrake of Millers Falls, MA; nephew Shawn Howell of Grant’s Pass, OR; nieces, Jenna (Joe) Palo of Virginia Beach, VA and Caitlyn Goodbrake of Easthampton,MA; special friends, Joyce Giordano, Ricky Aronson, and Michael Giordano of Island Park, NY; and several members of the Texas and Colorado Jennings family.
