Obituary of Robert George Sears
Robert George Sears, 67, of Watauga, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 9, 1957, in Odessa, Texas, to George and Wilma Sears, Robert’s life was defined by hard work, loyalty, and an unwavering love for his family.
For over 47 years, Robert built a remarkable career as a truck driver, dedicating the last 15 years to North Texas Contracting as a trusted mechanic and heavy equipment hauler. His strong work ethic, skill, and reliability earned him deep respect from colleagues and friends alike.
Above all, Robert was a devoted family man. He found his greatest joy in his loved ones and is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Russell, and her husband, David; his sons, Robert and Mitchell; and his cherished grandsons, Michael, Chase, and Jayden. He also leaves behind his brothers: Steven, Wes, Les, Larry, and Jerry Don, as well as many treasured cousins, nieces, and nephews, including Miss Robbi Kelley and countless other family members and friends.
Robert will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and the nickname that became a badge of honor—“Old Geezer.” His laughter and lighthearted spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 31st, 2025 at Martin Thompson & Son Chapel, 6009 Wedgwood Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76133.
