Obituary of Gerald Eugene Day
Gerald Eugene Day, the son of John and Lila day born on February 10, 1954, passed away January 25, 2025.
Gerald was well known for his sharp dress and hard work ethics. Gerald attended Poly High School and graduated in 1971. Gerald was named best dressed. He attendeded TCU where he recieved his bachelors in Fashion Design. He immediately took his degree into the fashion world, where he was a department and store manager for several big department stores, Foleys, Macy's, Saks 5th Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Belk. Gerald worked in the Galleria Mall, Red Bird Mall and in Alliance. He managed women and men shoes, men's suits and so many other departments and everyone knew Mr. Day when he walked onto the floor of the department store. He was greatly respected.
Gerald met his wife Kathy while working at the mall, they were married over two decades until her passing in February of 2024.
Gerald loved hunting deer, elk, and rattlesnakes, he loved deep sea fishing, and his latest passion was gardening. Before Gerald got sick hunting and fishing was his relaxation time.
After Gerald had two strokes he became a resident of Vista Ridge Nursing and Rehab where he was the resident's president making sure residents were treated fairly. He was a natural born leader, not afraid to face a challenge head on.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Day; father, John Day; mother, Lila Day; and a host of other family members.
Gerald leaves behind to cherish his memories his only son, Garrion Kindrd (Trena); sister, Vandra Noel (Michael); niece and nephew, Ashley and Deandre Adams; grandchildren, Garrion Jr, Alysia, Trevonne; 3 great grandkids; an amazing cousin, Joel Lavender (Mary); and his precious sweet dog, Emma.
